Terraform/CDK, CI/CD, Observability and FinOps: Deploy, Test, Monitor and Control CostBy Pankaj Kumar Jha | EA — Data & AI
Running example: An energy operations control tower that ingests generation, smart-meter, asset, weather and market data, transforms it into Iceberg data products and serves operational dashboards. Financial-markets equivalents include trade, quote, reference-data and risk pipelines.
Build once, test each change, promote deliberately and monitor the service after release.Scenario: The platform has several AWS accounts, S3 and Iceberg data products, Glue jobs, shared catalog permissions and downstream dashboards. A change to one job can affect freshness, data quality, security or cost. The team needs a repeatable deployment process and clear operational signals so failures are detected and resolved before users lose confidence in the control tower.
